Earning his fourth DNF of the 2023 season at New Hampshire, Kyle Busch’s maiden run with Richard Childress Racing has run into a rough patch. The DNF also led to Rowdy losing two spots on NASCAR’s Cup Series standings, placing him in the fifth spot. To further add to Kyle Busch’s troubles, the RCR team has been struggling to find the sweet spot for their #8 Chevy’s optimal performance.

Flustered with his subpar performance, Kyle Busch has now unleashed a ballistic rant directed at NASCAR.

Kyle Busch was wary of his performance with NASCAR’s short-track package when he stepped foot in Loudon for the Crayon 301 Cup Series race. The #8 RCR driver’s worst fears came true when he spun out and crashed backward into the outside wall during qualifying. While the RCR crew patched up the #8 Chevy in time for the Crayon 301 event, their efforts would be marred by a stage one crash. Approaching a turn, Kyle Busch’s #8 car lost rear wheel traction, slamming into the outside wall. With the collision effectively ending his race, Kyle Busch’s vexation at NASCAR’s short-track package increased double-fold.

Now in Long Pond for the upcoming Pocono 400 race event, Kyle Busch sat down for a pre-race presser. During the press conference, the RCR #8 driver was asked about his concerns regarding the short-track package. Busch replied, It’s a big concern. You know, again, we are just trying to figure it out. How many things we have tried, I can’t even comprehend to tell you. Obviously, we haven’t hit on it yet. We have Richmond coming up next week, so we have to find something that is going to work for us there. Definitely some conceptual ideas that are going around again, on what to do. We will just have to play it out and see how it goes.”

Drifting away from talking about the upcoming Pocono event, Kyle Busch’s pre-race presser seemed to be focused on Rowdy’s ongoing issues with NASCAR’s short-track package. Having been vocal about his struggles at the short tracks, Busch was then asked if he still needed some more weeks to figure out the short-track package.

Expressing his frustration, Kyle Busch went on a ballistic rant directed at NASCAR saying, “Well, I would say that…..how many short track races have we had? Six? Five? Okay, enough is enough. I don’t think we need any more bad ones to prove that we are bad at them. We need to find what the answer is to be good at them.”

Rowdy further added, “I know we are all working as hard as we can and I am at the simulator six hours a week, every week, trying to figure it out. We are doing different things and this week we tried some more stuff this week that kind of hit on what our issues were. We were trying to recreate the issues that we had at the track, in the sim. So we feel like we had a little bit of the right direction on that this time around.”
