The Petty family has bloomed over decades in NASCAR. Despite tragedies affecting the household, there have been an equal number of heartwarming events as well. Driver-turned-broadcaster Kyle Petty has experienced both ends of the spectrum. Currently, though, the NASCAR veteran is enjoying the sweeter side – with his wife Morgan, whom he married in 2015.
The speedster couple have spent a bountiful decade together. Three years after their sacred union, Kyle and Morgan welcomed their first child, Overton Owens Petty. Then, in 2020, they brought another bundle of joy to this earth – Cotten Cable Petty, and in 2022, their youngest child, Davant Isley Petty, was born. That’s marital bliss at its peak, and Petty is not one to shy away from sharing that happiness with the world…
Penning an emotional note on Instagram on December 11, Kyle Petty posted a picture. His wife Morgan could be seen gorgeously decked up in wedding colors, holding a bouquet in one hand. With a full heart, Kyle wrote about how lucky he is on their marriage anniversary: “My world changed when we met. 9 years has passed too fast. But still today when I look at you it feels like I’m seeing you for the first time. You are my everything, Happy Anniversary.”

Notably, this is Kyle’s second marriage. He separated from his ex-wife Pattie in 2012, after 33 years together. The couple share three children together: Adam, Austin, and Montgomery. Though not officially confirmed, the death of their eldest son, Adam Petty and Pattie’s Parkinson’s diagnosis was the main reason behind the divorce. For the unversed, the fourth-generation NASCAR driver from the Petty family lost his life due to a basilar skull fracture incurred during a Busch Series practice session in New Hampshire.
To keep his memory alive, the couple founded Victory Junction Gang Camp Mission—a non-profit organization that “enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illness by providing life changing camp experiences that are exciting fun, and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment”—in 2004. And it is through this organization that the Kyle Petty met his future wife. But before we get to that…
The organization’s official website states: “Victory Junction was the dream of Adam Petty, a fourth generation race car driver from the famous Petty family and a rising star in the sport. Adam’s passion for racing was equaled only by his compassion for others, especially children. Between races, he often visited children in pediatric hospitals. After his tragic death in a racing accident, Adam’s family and friends came together to realize his dream of a camp to serve children with serious medical conditions. Adam’s vision sprung to life when Victory Junction opened its gates in 2004.”
Then, in 1995, the veteran driver founded Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America (a charity event) which later worked closely with VJGC, to help raise funds. Till date, the event has reportedly logged more than 13.1 million cumulative rides and raised more than $22 million with 9,350 riders. And it is in this same organization that Morgan worked as an Executive Director.
While the exact details of their love story are not available to the public, the best guess is love blossomed when they were working together. In fact, the couple is still closely related to the cause, which is evident from Kyle Petty’s official Instagram account.

Having said that, it wasn’t long before the community jumped in to celebrate Petty’s newest milestone…

The Petty family anyway holds immense prestige in the sport. Since Lee Petty founded his team in 1948, the family has etched its name in gold. It has shared tragedy as well, a large amount of which Kyle Petty carries – he drove the No. 45, originally scheduled for Adam, for the rest of his career after his son’s death.
