Hailie Deegan announced in October that she will be bidding adieu to the world of NASCAR forever. In her latest ventures, she has now joined hands with none other than HMD Motorsports and will be seen in the IndyNXT genre. This marks her debut in the field of open-wheel racing, a domain that is lesser known to her.

Deegan took part in a test drive session for the very first time in a race that featured 22 racers in all. This took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and ended with quite a tough and bumpy ride.

Hailie Deegan is focused on making it count at her new venture and she was seen with her practice plan at the Sebring International Raceway. Deegan had a complete day planned when she ran the FR car and was all set to test the limits of the car for the next day as well. Hailie Deegan competed in the last two races of the 2024 Formula Regional Americas Championship with this team, marking her debut in open-wheel racing. 

While her venture with IndyNXT does foster new hopes and expectations, the same story was not prevalent for her NASCAR journey. Her career started in the year 2017 with stock cars and she had already won three ARCA Menards Series West races. She slowly transitioned to the domain of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2021 and yet did not have the success she had envisioned. 

In the year 2024, Deegan competed in 17 races for AM Racing with her best finish being 12th. However, she ended up parting ways after the end of the 17th event of the year at Nashville. Her run ended with a finish in the 27th position. Fans have expressed mixed reactions to Hailie Deegan‘s new venture, with some excited about her potential in open-wheel racing and others cautiously optimistic about her ability to adapt. As anticipation builds, all eyes are on Deegan to see how she performs in this fresh chapter of her career.
