RFK Racing has experienced a drastic turnaround. While the talent has been there since Brad Keselowski took charge in 2022, a combination of factors deterred the team. After a successful 2023 and playoff appearance for both of the drivers, the team is open to making some space for another driver.

The team’s official Twitter account for the No. 60 Ford Mustang recently updated the NASCAR community about a new face in the RFK garage. While only the silhouette of the new driver is visible in the video, fans have taken their shots in the dark as they have been keen on the developments in the driver recruitment department.

There are a few names that have floated to the surface. Among retired drivers, fans have speculated a return for two-time runner-up Carl Edwards and David Ragan. Some people have also guessed that AJ Allmendinger will come in from Kaulig Racing and save his Cup career, which is dwindling with uncertainty for 2024.

Former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace also tuned in to the discussion and recognized the driver from the video’s bleak impression and walking style. Letting his answer known, Wallace tweeted, “Pretty sure that is my dear friend @DavidRagan. Got that country walk going”

Had the news been about a driver joining the team for 2024 or more than just the Daytona 500, many suitable options existed. However, a cameo appearance points the fingers toward former drivers. On another note, one of the fans questioned if Parker Kligerman would be a Ford driver in the Xfinity Series in 2024. Kligerman denied the rumor with a GIF that shut down the speculation.

RFK Racing already has great firepower and the perfect blend of talent and experience with Chris Buescher and driver/owner Keselowski. MRN announcer and SiriusXM host Dave Moody brought some light-hearted humor after using his first guess for ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

One of the fans in Moody’s comment section went too far in the guessing game. Analyzing the shape of the ear in the silhouette and two different pictures of Ragan and Edwards, he concluded that NASCAR fans would be seeing David Regan at the Daytona 500.

Ragan’s 17-year-long RFK Racing career ended in 2019 when he hung up his boots. He returned for four races in 2022 and even had a top-10 finish in the 2022 Daytona 500. He can be seen frequently on NASCAR Race Hub as an analyst.

Another wild guess from the fans was about actor-turned-racer Frankie Muniz. After his impressive debut season with Rette Jones Racing in the ARCA circuit, fans have wanted to see him in a better car and competition for a long time. That would be a full circle for him, considering he has always dreamed of making it big in NASCAR’s premier competition.

Had the race not been a one-time appearance for the selected driver, the sample space for drivers would have widened by a lot. With so much talent in the younger echelons of the sport, it could have been great for RFK Racing to add some young blood to the equation. Considering his history with RFK Racing, Ragan is a great choice. However, the big reveal can only be confirmed by the team itself.
