It is widely known that Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick have been at the forefront when talking about driver safety and the risk the Next-Gen cars provoke. Moreover, recently after hearing Hamlin’s thoughts on how to improve the car, former influential NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr came out and supported Hamlin’s points while letting his own observations out as a criticism of NASCAR’s latest generation of cars.

Junior stated, “Personally, me, I want to go, ‘Well, d******, why did we have to go this far with this design?’ Why did this car have to be so far removed from what we were doing, to begin with? Why did we have to jump to the other extreme? I mean, we’ve basically got a sports car running around these ovals. A car designed for road courses now racing at mile-and-a-half oval tracks.”

During a press conference, Hamlin went all the way to state that NASCAR needs to listen and collaborate with the ones driving the cars in the first place. This comes after several NASCAR drivers who were involved in crashes, either reported concussion-like symptoms or felt that the impact was too hard on their bodies.

Well talking about it certainly pushes the path for further progress and change, though that change might take a while to show up. But at the moment NASCAR should implement improvements to their cars as soon as possible, in order to protect the health and safety of the drivers who risk their lives every time they step into one of those vehicles.
