The veteran driver elaborated on how the sports differ, citing some disappointing realities in NASCAR. With his new-found love for drag events, fans witnessed a zealous Stewart vividly explaining how things turn out on the drag strip.
While mentioning the obvious differences between each sport, the former NASCAR driver briefed the host, Courtney Enders, about the bitter state of NASCAR events. He said, “You know, I think honestly and […] I’m sure I’ll get penalized at some point for saying all this, but I’ve always said that […] if you’re just gonna go for the race itself, it’s 10 times better to watch it on TV than be there in person. An NHRA drag race is the exact opposite of that.”
Stewart then took the listeners on a journey as he illustrated the scenes at a drag event vividly. He added, “If you have the opportunity to go to a drag race, and you get to go down in the pit area, and you get to smell the Nitro, you to see the teams working on the cars, and you’re 10 feet away from them.
“But to feel that concussion when the cars hit the gas on a starting line you could, it doesn’t matter how high up in the bleachers you’re sitting, you feel that in your body and you feel stuff moving in your body you’ve never felt before and that’s there’s nothing, there’s nowhere else in the world, there’s no other kind of motorsport that you get that sensation.”
The champion certainly knows how to paint a picture.
