Justin Haley’s change of allegiance gets approval by Bubba Wallace’s spotter

In the ongoing season, the Kaulig Racing driver, Justin Haley, has assuredly a good run in the races. The driver currently sits at the 21st position with just a few points away from the cut-line of the playoffs. Haley, furthermore, has five top-10 finishes, including the impressive runner-up finish at the inaugural race in Chicago. However, that does not set the driver free from controversies.

The incident between Haley and Daniel Hemric has apparently taken center stage in the past few days after Haley failed to return the favor to his teammate. Furthermore, this has not been the only instance where the driver has been marred in controversies, a case in point being his Daytona 500 win back in 2019.

The driver who had led for just one lap was declared the winner of the race in just his third Cup start, due to weather inclement. Having said that, it is apparent that the driver has found himself in the middle of another strife after he announced his departure from Kaulig Racing at the end of the 2023 season. signing a multi-year contract with Rick Ware Racing.

After the contract was finalized and stamped, Haley expressed his thoughts to the media. He revealed, “This is a unique opportunity that I look forward to. There are many key pieces of this program I believe can help me in taking the next steps in my NASCAR career.”

“I look forward to working with our key partners, and many additional RWR partners to be announced soon. The alliance with RFK Racing is going to be pivotal for the future of our on-track success,” Haley added.

What many consider an impetuous decision, on the contrary, gets support from Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft. After the news faced a certain amount of backlash for Haley demoting himself, Kraft wrote on Twitter, “I have to laugh at people saying Haley “downgraded.” How can you downgrade from an unknown? There was no guarantees that he was going to be back in the 31. So while yes the 51 is probably a step back from the 31, it’s much better than the possibility of having nothing at all.”

While many were happy to disagree with the veteran spotter and wrote under the post;

“It is a downgrade from the 31. Kaulig runs better than RWR. Chris Rice was high on Haley.  Haley chose RWR. Downgrade.”

“But RWR is nothing.  Bro went to a 1 star ride.”

“I think some better seats will open up and he  probably should have waited.”

On the contrary, many netizens exhibited their support and had faith in the driver’s decision. They wrote;

“Aren’t Camaros going away for next year? At least with RWR he’s guaranteed a ride… I don’t see it as a downgrade I see it as an opportunity to help a team get stronger and better!”
