Shane Van Gisbergen, who has recently been turning heads with his victory at the Chicago street race, will begin the race from P8 on the grid. The New Zealander’s remarkable win in his series debut has created high expectations. However, Van Gisbergen remains cautious and is not making any grand promises for the Brickyard Cup Series race.

During an interview with RACER’s Marshall Pruett, SVG was asked, “So thinking about what you guys are hoping to do here coming off of that Chicago win at the Brickyard. I mean, you’ve done some pretty amazing things in your career. Where would standing in Victory Lane at Indianapolis rate for you, mate?

“Well, it would be huge, but this weekend is going to be tough. It’s a track everyone’s known, been to the last couple of years. And yeah, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I know I’m in an awesome team, awesome car and. Good teammates as well to compare to. It’s gonna be really fun to see how we go, so just in one.”

SVG has the unprecedented potential of becoming the first driver in NASCAR history to win his first two career starts. His previous success and his teammate Daniel Suarez’s pole position bring attention to Trackhouse Racing‘s performance this season.
