Double Trouble for NASCAR as Two Drivers Fall Afoul of the Law

The world of NASCAR finds itself in a precarious position, as it has always been law-abiding. Drivers, along with other personnel and governing body members, have always strived to maintain a pristine image of themselves without infringing the rules and regulations laid down by the state.

However, recent events have placed NASCAR in a compromising situation, as two of its drivers have been issued serious charges followed by arrests by state authorities on two separate occasions. The drivers who have fallen prey to this are Jason White and Chris Hacker. 

NASCAR drivers find themselves entangled in the law after flouting the rules

Both Chris Hacker and Jason White are part-time Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series drivers. Jason White made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 1999 and returned to the sport in February after nearly a decade of absence. Hunter, on the other hand, has made only six starts, including both the Xfinity and Truck Series. Now, both drivers seemed to be entangled in serious legal issues in two separate instances.

The No. 1 Toyota Tundra driver, Jason White, was arrested by the Huntersville Police Department on the grounds of Drinking While Impaired on August 3rd. The news, as reported by NASCAR journalist Toby Christie, stated that the driver is scheduled to appear in front of the judge in September for further deliberation in the case.

While no official statement has been released by NASCAR authorities, the other charges that were filed against the driver were Reckless Driving that could endanger others, speeding, and exceeding the limits.

However, the 23-year-old Chris Hacker was also slapped with similar charges of Driving While impaired, which also included driving without wearing a seatbelt. Hacker was arrested on August 15 and is set to appear before the North Carolina Judicial Bench on September 19. His DL was also revoked by the legal authority as per standard protocols.

The No. 30 Toyota Tundra driver, who once suffered from a brachial plexus injury, recorded a top 15 finish in the ongoing season of the Xfinity Series race in Richmond.

Nevertheless, the news of both incidents seemed to have made the fans livid as they poured in their displeasure under the post on Twitter.

Commenting on Jason White’s case, fans wrote, “Shout out @CelsiusOfficial for sponsoring a Drunk…”

“At least we still have Canadian Jason White.”

“Enjoy Prison Food Jason because you’ll be getting plenty of it. Hell your new cell mate is Rick Crawford. What an idiot.”

“What a moron.”

They also bashed Chris Hacker for his lapse of judgment and for committing such a mistake.

Fans also wrote, “He’s been driving impaired his entire career.”

Others also wrote, “everyone act surprised.”

“Dude doesn’t deserve a ride he wrecks in every race he’s been in anyway.”

While further information is still awaited from the authorities, it does act as an eye-opener for many. It asserts the fact that no individual is bigger than the law, which remains binding under all circumstances. It is to be seen how the case unfolds and how it acts as a precedent for other individuals.
