In a recent episode of the Dale Jr Download, Dale Earnhardt Jr engaged in some banter with his right-hand man, Mike Davis. This was after the former NASCAR driver spoke about wanting to get Davis to try out cryotherapy. This was something that Dale Jr tried with his wife Amy, who often goes to exercise classes with her friends. The former Daytona 500 winner admitted that he wanted to try his hand at yoga, but attempted a Core class.
Earnhardt revealed on his podcast, “I’m only exposing myself to this for you, Mike. It’s good for the show. You’re my co-host, you’re never going to go do this. Yeah, you are.”

A curious Davis asked him why, and from there, they bantered about whether Dale was doing it for the show or for Davis. He asked if Dale Jr. was going to try to motivate him into following in his footsteps. However, Davis insisted that he was not going to attempt the cryo treatment. Of course, Dale Earnhardt Jr was not taking no for an answer, and they went back and forth.
Then, Davis appeared to change his tune, saying that he will do it. However, he put up a condition, that he was confident that Dale Jr would not fulfill. He challenged the ex-NASCAR driver to hike the Grand Canyon. Initially, he challenged him to compete in a dirt race, before choosing the Canyon challenge.
Dale Jr accepted, saying, “I’ll hike the Grand Canyon, you got a deal. No, no, no! You’re going to cryo first, cause I’m hiking the Grand Canyon sometime in my life. Yes. People, can y’all not help me? To get Mike to understand that he needs to do his part. You’re literally doing none of your part here. We do have people listening. You’re not carrying your part of the load here.”
Davis still had some reservations about the cryo treatment

After Dale Jr tried to guilt-trip him, Davis declared that the treatment sounded ‘awful’ to him. So the ex-Hendrick Motorsports driver attempted a new tactic, audience appeal. An unamused Davis accused him of ‘cheating’ and tapping into the fans’ weakness. Then came another round of negotiation, with Mike Davis adopting another strategy. He wanted Dale Jr to do it with him and threatened to not do it unless he was there.

Dale Jr started by saying, “Is there something you think I need to do that we could come on this show and talk about? Let’s freaking do it and don’t make that sorry a** excuse. You’re going to do cryo, I’m going to get the damn thing set up. You’re going to go over there, even if I have to go back in the damn box.”
This is where Davis asked if Dale will do the therapy with him. To this, Dale said, “No we’re not standing in that box together in our underwear. But I’ll do it in the same day. Physically in the same box? That’s weird. It’s tight in there.”

Of course, Davis asked a fairly important question about the presence of cameras. Dale Jr finally relented to go into cryotherapy with him, as long as they were not sharing. That was when the topic of a camera cropped up, and Davis had his doubts once again. Would you want to see the two podcast hosts take an ice-filled bathtub for a spin?
