23XI Racing’s Kurt Busch won’t be making it to the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs this year. The 2004 champion is currently fighting concussion-like symptoms, and due to his medical condition, his teammate Bubba Wallace will represent 23XI by driving Busch’s #45.

Around a week ago, 23XI Racing withdrew Busch’s waiver to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series. The team instead announced that Bubba Wallace will complete the season in the #45 this year. Swapping his #23 Toyota for #45, Wallace will make his debut with #45 at Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington.

Unsurprisingly, political commentator and author Nick Adams, known for his inclination toward former US President Donald Trump, grabbed this opportunity to criticize Wallace. The writer mocked Wallace for ditching his #23 car. Calling Bubba Wallace a ‘loser,’ Adams went on to say ‘Donald Trump is a winner’.

The 23XI driver’s fans took it upon themselves to defend their own.

NASCAR fans react to Nick Adams’ tweet

Criticizing Adams for throwing in his unwarranted remarks, Wallace fans could not understand why the author is so “obsessed” with the driver and called out Adams for not understanding what he was talking about.

Furious by Adam’s remarks, a few fans also commented on Donald Trump. They took this opportunity to point out that like Wallace, Trump had his own failures.

However, this is not the first time Adams has targeted Wallace. His hateful comments against the NASCAR Cup Series driver have been a regular affair for the past few years.

It all began in 2020 when Trump called out Bubba Wallace for spreading a ‘hoax.’ In June 2020, a noose was found hanging in the 23XI driver’s garage at the Talladega Superspeedway

Following the incident, Trump claimed that the ‘whole thing was a hoax’ through his official twitter account. He wrote, “Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!”

Since then, Trump’s self-proclaimed favorite author has continued to comment on Wallace’s races and life. Leaving negative comments against the driver has become the norm for the ‘bestselling author.’ However, Bubba Wallace fans have always supported their favorite driver against Adams.
