The NASCAR community has lamented the recent intrusion of rain into Cup races. Sunday’s race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was shifted to Monday after the conditions were deemed too risky by officials. NASCAR has also received a lot of flak for its evident problem in handling rain-affected races. But Dale Earnhardt Jr being the entrepreneur he is known for has brought out something that lightens the mood after the rescheduling.

A race on Monday means a significant amount of the audience will miss out on the race due to the responsibilities of their jobs. But Dr. Earnhardt has got something for this specific cause.

Bringing some light-hearted banter and a virtual free pass to take a day off from work, Dale Earnhardt Jr has got a hilarious absence note.

The NASCAR on NBC’s official Twitter handle posted an image of what looks like a doctor’s prescription for diagnosis of fever. What’s special about it is, it’s signed by none other than Dr. Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The tweet describes it as “a totally legit doctor’s note“.

Junior leaves a note for the recipient and the user as well which says, “Please excuse them, as they have a fever and the only prescription is NASCAR racing, to be taken Monday at Noon ET.”

Well, the NASCAR racing pill never fails to work as suggested by Dr. Earnhardt. Monday shows promise for fireworks on the track as the playoffs inch closer. The center of attention will be on the drivers that are struggling for control over a playoff spot.

A Monday can’t get any better if you’re off work and at a NASCAR Cup race. Getting to see your favorite driver engage in nail-biting battles in New Hampshire might be a luxury for many people. But the Dale Jr and NBC’s wholesome effort aims to curb some of that. One of the fans said that summer races in NASCAR are perfect for teachers. With summer vacations across the country, there is a lot of room in a teacher’s summer schedule for a Cup race.

 

“As a former teacher I would totally accept this!!!“, said another fan involved in the field of teaching. Another Twitter user had a minor suggestion for USA Network in case his leave wasn’t approved.

“Hope this works. If not I’m reviewing media on @USANetwork for STEM ideas starting at noon,” tweeted the fan.

One of the more interesting replies was where one of the fans posted a screenshot that shows a conversation with her boss about taking a leave. Her boss plays along with the gimmick and approves it commending Dale Jr’s prescription.

“Can I have 2 of those??” demanded another fan, probably aiming it to use the excuse on another rain-delayed race.  “Well I don’t know my schedule for the week yet I guess I can show this in the morning ….who knows maybe I’m off tomorrow and won’t need it”,

“No joke took this to work and my boss saw the dale jr part and laughed. Said he loves jr and gave me the day off ( I work at Walmart.)”  said a Walmart employee. Fortunately, with the person in charge being a Dale Jr fan, he had to respect it.
