“Dirty” Denny Hamlin Exposes Martin Truex Jr’s Retirement Gimmick After JGR Teammate Sold Him Out

This comment has raised questions about their relationship as revelations from a recent podcast add to speculation about potential tensions within the JGR team, where Denny Hamlin is heard exposing Truex Jr’s retirement gimmick.

Following the Pocono race, Denny Hamlin appeared as a guest on the Rubbin Is Racing podcast. Hamlin revealed that the delay in Truex’s response could be related to exploring other opportunities.

“I think the delay in the answer has to do with some leveraging for other things, but I’ll leave it at that,” Hamlin shared. While both parties appear satisfied with their agreements, Hamlin suggested that there might be unresolved elements Truex Jr wished to address.

“There may be other factors that Martin would like to see worked out,” Denny added. As to whether Truex Jr. will be on the track next year, the answer remains uncertain.

Martin Truex Jr, who secured a respectable third-place finish, commented on the on-track altercation between Larson and Hamlin, acknowledging it as a crucial turning point in the race. He believed that both of them had employed similar strategies up until the incident, but Hamlin’s move, which he considered somewhat dirty, proved to be the difference maker. 

“You know he kinda took it that extra little bit I guess to make it a little bit dirty and you know I didn’t so maybe that’s the difference why he won and I didn’t” Tuex emphasizes.

Truex Jr attributed Hamlin’s win to the extra aggressive approach he took during the incident, which he refrained from employing himself.

With both drivers treading on murky waters, the future of the season remains speculative. Nevertheless, the JGR camp shines bright in the 2023 season, securing back-to-back wins and all four drivers finishing in the top six at the Pocono race. Impressively, three JGR drivers occupy top-four spots in regular-season points as well. With such fierce and close competition, the question lingers: Who will ultimately bag the 2023 championship?
