Following the Pocono race, Denny Hamlin appeared as a guest on the Rubbin Is Racing podcast. Hamlin revealed that the delay in Truex’s response could be related to exploring other opportunities.
“I think the delay in the answer has to do with some leveraging for other things, but I’ll leave it at that,” Hamlin shared. While both parties appear satisfied with their agreements, Hamlin suggested that there might be unresolved elements Truex Jr wished to address.

He believed that both of them had employed similar strategies up until the incident, but Hamlin’s move, which he considered somewhat dirty, proved to be the difference maker.

“You know he kinda took it that extra little bit I guess to make it a little bit dirty and you know I didn’t so maybe that’s the difference why he won and I didn’t” Tuex emphasizes.
