Finally, after all the wait, there have been rumblings about a contract extension being worked upon for the Hendrick Motorsports driver, Alex Bowman. Recently, eminent NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass revealed that there indeed were talks taking place for an extension. Moreover, Pockrass also had the chance to have a word about the deal directly with Bowman. As per Pockrass’s recent tweet, he mentioned that he was able to catch up with Alex Bowman during the production days. During this time, he caught up with the driver.
Bowman has been pretty good with HMS these past few years. Moreover, he has also been consistent with his results. Another thing to notice is that Bowman has been getting himself into the playoffs for the last five seasons back to back. That in itself gives enough proof that he is up for the challenge to push ahead with time and effort. However, everyone in the NASCAR community did not well accept his surprise news about his HMS extension. Some even chose to take a shot at the driver.
During production days, I caught up with Alex Bowman and he said talks have started with HMS about a contract extension. Bowman: “I am encouraged on where things are. Both sides are working on it. Hopefully we can put something together. … I don’t want to go anywhere else.”

During this conversation, Bowman mentioned, “I am encouraged on where things are. Both sides are working on it. Hopefully, we can put something together.” He also made it clear that he was not interested in going into any other team than HMS.
Now, who would want to leave a powerhouse team such as Hendrick Motorsports, right? The majority of the fans believe that it would be the right move to sign him as soon as possible. However, there were a few people who disagreed with the proposition.
NASCAR fans take a dig at Alex Bowman regarding his contract extension
Surely, it wasn’t the majority that took a negative approach toward Bowman. But there were a few who did not consider this extension to be fruitful. They argued that if it was not Hendrick Motorsports, no one else would hire him for a drive. However, most of their sentiments seem to come from a predetermined hatred toward the HMS driver.
Some of the fans even went as far as to call him a “waste of space.”
Of course he doesn't wanna go anywhere else as no other team will waste a competitive seat on his sorryass. He outta be thankful he's got talented teammates, which makes it possible to keep his waste of space uselessness from dragging down HMS success anymore than he already has.

@Alex_Bowman doesn’t have a choice. He would literally have no where else to go. No hendrick? No ride😂
Ally isn’t there bc of Bowman. Ally is there bc of Hendrick. And Bowman knows that.
