Everyone knows Dale Earnhardt Jr was the ‘Pied Piper’ around Daytona. But who knew he could play around with his words, too? And it was Mike Davis who ended up being at the receiving end of Dale Jr’s witty quips. It all happened on the recent episode of Earnhardt Jr’s podcast.

Mike Davis, the President of Dirty Mo Media, returned opposite Dale Jr on the latter’s show. He had been out for a week due to losing his voice. Unluckily for him, Earnhardt Jr had no trouble finding his words to poke fun about his illness. NASCAR’s 15-time Most Popular Driver even referenced a much-loved Friends character to drive home the banter.

The latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download was not short of joking and jesting. One could not help but feel bad for Dale Earnhardt Jr’s co-host, Mike Davis. Not only did Davis have an ill-stricken time the week before, but his long-time business partner only had comedy on his mind. The Friends sitcom kind of comedy.

As Mike Davis narrated the ordeal of losing his voice temporarily, Dale Jr replied, “Do you remember that episode of Friends where Phoebe gets that thing and she goes and sings at the coffee shop and she’s so good? And then she gets over her sinus infection. Her throat clears up and she loses her incredible singing voice… Did you try to sing?” Mike Davis then hinted that he might have.

After Earnhardt Jr tried to playfully mimic Davis’ singing, he asked, “Did your girls not pick on you? They seem like the kind that would pick on you.” Davis replied that he stayed away from them. Clearly, he could not catch a break for himself as Dale Jr kept the jokes coming.

Sarcasm was the order of the day when Earnhardt Jr got to know more about Mike Davis’ past week. He chipped in to say, “I bet some people were happy you lost your voice.” Davis replied to the mockery, “That’s nice to say, thank you.”

To this Dale Jr clarified, “I mean your wife, that’s the joke… She was probably thankful to have some quiet. She didn’t even use that joke on you?” Davis revealed that his wife didn’t. But what did the ‘Pied Piper’ think of Davis’ voice?

Earnhardt said, “I heard it and it was a pretty funny sound… I called you multiple times and I really had to control my laughter.” It feels as if Dale Earnhardt Jr could only see the lighter side of Mike Davis’ trouble with his vocals.
