Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports finally grabbed their fourth NASCAR Xfinity title. This win felt like redemption since it is their first since 2018, and after multiple final 4 heartbreaks, they finally get to pop the victory champagne. On November 9, Dale Jr.’s veteran made an exceptional comeback after he fell a lap down midway through the race, and all hope looked lost.
JR Motorsports veteran Justin Allgaier met with a flat tire and consecutive penalties and still managed to get back through the field before surpassing Austin Hill and Cole Custer on an overtime restart. Having made the pass, the No. 7 Chevrolet survived a double overtime restart and clinched his first victory at the Phoenix Raceway. “This is mind-blowing, it is,” Allgaier said. “We tried to give it away every way we could.” It is needless to say that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was beyond happy. However, as it turns out, he had some bad news in store too.

Peter Stratta took to his official X account and shared a clip of Dale Earnhardt Jr. from the Red Carpet at the NASCAR Awards. He spoke about how special the night was and it was all because of Justin Allgaier. He went on to add how they had won championships before, but this was different since it would be their last year. Talking about JR Motorsports, he said, “We want to be a great organization that you’re here just for a short time and you go on and graduate and move up.” He stated that they have worked well, helping people achieve the opportunity beyond the Xfinity series. However, after the win, the fans were hoping Justin Allgaier to go for the ultimate championship – the Cup Ride.
But as it seems, he will be deprived of the title every driver wishes to acquire. The owner of JR Motorsports has his final verdict. “Justin is ours, Justin is with us. He’s going to retire with us.” Appreciating him once again, he stated how Allgaier has had to take the back seat, giving the spotlight to the up-and-rising stars, despite his outstanding run since 2016. They have made sure to thank him time and again, adding how he has inspired young drivers, Dale Jr. added, “Whether they realize it or not, he’s made an impact on their lives and who they are and how they how they, you know, approach their job.”
