Joining his friend and manager, Mike Davis on the studio floor, Dale Jr kicked things off in style as he dived into the past, Recalling the eventful and exciting 1979 Daytona 500, Earnhardt Jr compared it with the recent altercation at Kansas. And his comments clearly show that the veteran is a proud spokesperson for respect between drivers.
While discussing about the off-track fights, Dale Jr said that such skirmishes are part of the game. Moreover, being a proud owner of the CARS TOUR series, Earnhardt Jr clearly understands the business side of such dramatic events. Recalling the notorious altercation that catapulted the sport from the regional to the national stage, Dale Jr elaborated upon his point by discussing the infamous stint between Donnie Allison and Cale Yarborough.
Dale Jr said, “I bet Bill France Sr was sitting there going, what a freaking embarrassment, what in the hell are these idiots doing? We’re on national Tv, CBS, 16-15 million people watching, they need to quit, they need to stop this sh*t.“
Further, the veteran goes off to explain how these episodes fuel the fan’s aspiration, “And so these moments, while we might not love everything about some of what happens, they help elevate the sport, promote the sport. It’s ammo to really go out there and say, ‘Hey everybody! This is what happened here last time, y’all might want to come tune in.”
While this single incident skyrocketed the popularity of the sport from the regional to the national scene back in 1979, Dale Jr as the owner of the CARS Tour series identifies the significance of such stunts.

Hall of Famer, Dale Jr joined his close friends to embark on a new venture, to resurrect the regional series, CARS Tour. Prominent NASCAR Cup Series names also joined the veteran in this new ordeal including Kevin Harvick, Justin Marks, and Jeff Burton.
Despite being a local name in Carolina, the series was struggling to track a large audience since its inception back in 2014. And now with prominent Cup names associated with it, they are certainly doing their best to give the recognition the series deserves. While the original founders remain in power, Dale Jr and his team’s primary focus is to bring back true American racing while sticking to its roots.

He said, “As a series owner now I’m starting to recognize things about our race program and the way things happen in an event. That I’m like ‘Oh man! I really wouldn’t have cared about that before but now as I am an owner of the series I want that to go differently.”
