The Hall of Fame induction weekend is a chance for NASCAR to honor and celebrate its greatest legends. While Kurt Busch is yet to find his name on those hallowed walls, he did offer through his words for fans to look forward to.
The Next Gen car has received a lot of criticism from drivers in the sport regarding its safety and durability. Those criticisms, however, hit their absolute peak when Busch had his wreck at Pocono in 2022. What seemed like a regulation crash, ended up being one of the most pivotal moments of Busch’s life.

Optimism from the former 23XI Racing driver
Since that crash, Busch has not been back to racing. His seat for the 2023 season was taken over by Tyler Reddick, who came over from Richard Childress Racing a season earlier than planned. Fans of the driver will be happy to hear that there’s still a small chance that they get to see the driver race again.
At the induction ceremony for the 13th Class, Busch said “We got the race team—the family with Toyota, and the family with Monster Energy. It’s there. I’m just still not approved to race yet at the competition level. But I still keep pushing.”
He also congratulated the new inductees: “Hershel McGriff is now my new motivator of kicking a** and getting to a better state of racing. What an amazing individual. Kirk Shelmerdine, congratulations. Hershel, congratulations. Kenseth, congratulations. I’ll keep pushing, you know me. I won’t give up.”
It was a tough situation that Busch was left in since that incident. Having to leave the one thing he loves most, must’ve been very difficult to deal with. But it’s great to hear these updates from the 23XI driver.

What? That’s crazy, he has to have a worse injury than just concussion.

It would be amazing if Busch can do what Hershel McGriff has done in his career. The happiest in that instance would probably be Michael Jordan. He would love to have his driver back home.
