From time to time, Kyle Busch reminds the community of his talent. Every season, he runs one such race that tells us how he withstood the test of time in a demanding industry. This year’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Pocono Raceway was one of those instances. Well, for Busch, it was another day at work and another record broken.

In 2009, Rowdy took a step towards cementing his legacy as a motorsport great and founded Kyle Busch Motorsports. The team grew at the same pace as its owner, and in current times at the Pocono Raceway, we saw the duo break another record in their search for greatness. The route to the milestone wasn’t as easy as you’d expect either, but now that they have achieved it, Busch can breathe a sigh of relief.

Busch is a revered personality among the followers of the Truck Series. With 63 race wins under his belt, he is the record winner for the competition. To translate some of his legacy in the domain onto the track, Busch took up the matter in his own hands for the outfit’s win no. 100. A spectacular battle against the former driver and teammate at KBM, Corey Heim, in the final ten laps of the race ensured that the 100th win was a hard-fought one.

Busch expressed gratitude on Instagram to his team and supporters for helping him reach a driving and ownership milestone. Expressing his gratitude, he posted,

“Thank u to all the KBM team members n drivers thru the years that helped us accomplish this milestone.”

The team has endured a tough year and is quite similar to the previous one. With one win before Pocono and one win in the year before, KBM could have a look at the achievement but wasn’t able to grasp it. Kyle Busch felt that the onus was on him to deliver on the occasion, and so he did. But previously, he has been critical of his team as well. Even with seven top-5 finishes, the end product had remained distant for the team so far. The main reason for Busch’s concerns was the abysmal performance and delay of the 100-win mark.

Yeah, it would certainly be nice. We have been talking about it for way too long. That would be good.” This was his reaction to being asked if they could win at Pocono prior to the race at a press conference.

The fact that Busch is not a regular driver in the series implies other drivers from the team have to step up to the occasion which they haven’t so far this season.

“Again, just having too many opportunities slip away, for sure, over the last three years, and to not have gotten to 100 by now. Only winning one race last year, only winning one race this year… You know, it’s been pretty lackluster.”

Busch was also the last winner in the KBM suit in March at the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 in Las Vegas. With the #51 being a ride for multiple drivers like William Byron, Busch, and Matt Mills, their #4 Chase Purdy has remained unsuccessful in winning so far this season.

“So, it would be nice to come out here and have a good, strong run with our Zariz Transport Silverado and get back in victory circle. We know we have to get better and there are some things that we are lacking on. I have tried to voice that, so hopefully we can remedy.” said Busch.
