In his NASCAR Cup Series career, Kyle Busch has built himself a pretty bad reputation. He is known to be blunt in his opinions and has a wicked temper. In addition to that, the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing driver is sometimes a bit of a sore loser. However, there are times when he reveals a softer and much kinder side to himself.

One fan called Kim Wherley found out about this side of the driver recently. In a Facebook post, she revealed that her 85-year-old mother Gigi is a massive Kyle Busch fan. Apparently, Gigi had never been to a live NASCAR race, and they had a chance in 2020 for the Mother’s Day weekend. Unfortunately, the onset of COVID meant that the race was held behind closed doors.

Two years later, circumstances became difficult for the 85-year-old. As it happened, she was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer and had shoulder replacement surgery.

Fortunately, Gigi is doing fine for the moment, and Kim plans to buy tickets for the August race at Richmond. A bonus would be if they got a picture with Kyle Busch.

This just goes to show that no matter how much criticism he faces for his antics, Busch can be really sweet when he wants to be.

Aside from these acts of kindness, the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers reserves this side of himself for his family. To be precise, 2015 and 2019 Cup champion’s wife Samantha and his son Brexton get to see this side often. Hopefully, Gigi finally fulfills her dream of meeting her favorite driver, Kyle Busch, at Richmond later this year.
