It has not been a great year to be Alex Bowman. The lone man from Hendrick Motorsports to wash up against a cruel twist of fate, Bowman ended the year on a sad note. The No. 48 driver snapped an 80-race winless streak in the Chicago Street Race in July. Once the playoffs began, he was weaving his path to the championship beautifully – until an unexpected penalty hit him in the face at Charlotte.
But despite Bowman’s driver misery, his team sponsor is not so much in dire straits. ‘Ally’ has been behind the 8-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner since 2019 and stuck to him through thick and thin. This time, the $11.53 benefactor saw the fruits of their continued loyalty.

After the Chicago Street Race concluded, a lot of misconceptions were proved wrong. Alex Bowman showed his doubters that he still has racing passion left in him after a two-year winless run. He snuffed out any chinks in his armor by harnessing the maximum points in the playoffs – but only until Charlotte. Bowman’s car failed the post-race weight inspection, as the No. 48 Chevy was lighter than the allowed 17 pounds. That dropped him from 18th to 36th, ejecting him from the Round of 8 and placing Joey Logano in his place.
This harsh fate deprived Bowman of a solid championship bid. However, all is not gloomy for the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team. At the NASCAR Awards ceremony, Alex Bowman could flaunt one luminous win. The 2024 NASCAR Marketing Achievement award was granted to Ally, Bowman’s loyal sponsor. The driver proudly posted this achievement with the caption: “Congrats to the friends @allyracing for being awarded the 2024 NASCAR Marketing Achievement Award! Well deserved with all the work they put into each race. 🙌”

Ally and Alex Bowman have many achievements to their credit. In 2021, Ally gave a new look to the No. 48 at Sonoma Raceway – it put a rainbow-colored “a” above the phrase “better together” to commemorate Pride Month. Ally’s chief marketing officer, Andrea Brimmer, partnered with The Trevor Project, a non-profit focused on suicide prevention efforts in the LGBTQ community. Then, Bowman ran a gradient purple-to-orange scheme featuring the logo of Best Friends Animal Society. Ally donated $1,000 to a shelter in each city where a NASCAR Cup Series race was hosted for a total of $33,000.
All these joint efforts mark a burgeoning relationship, one that was visible on the racetrack as well.

After all, the association dates back to 2019. Ally has watched and supported Alex Bowman through his first glory days. In 2019, consecutive races at Talladega, Dover, and Kansas all yielded second-place finishes and also a long face for Bowman. Ultimately, he grabbed his first victory at Chicagoland the same year, leading 88 laps. So Ally has been through Bowman’s ups and downs. This year as well, when Bowman broke his 80-race dry streak at Chicago, his sponsor was visibly emotional. Brimmer ecstatically shared: “I’m literally in tears. @Alex_Bowman has been battling so hard. This team so deserves it way to go @allyracing I love you guys!!!!”
Those same emotions flipped to the sad side when Bowman ran into the penalty in Charlotte. Despite securing 18th place, high enough to eliminate Joey Logano from the Round of 8, NASCAR brought down its judicial axe. It gave the team chances to fuel the car, purge the water system, and add water in an attempt to make minimum weight. However, the Chevy was still light and brought on a gloomy day for the 48 team. “Woke up this morning — after hardly sleeping — not feeling any better,” wrote Ally’s CMO Brimmer, adding she was “gutted” for Bowman and the “team who have fought for every point this year and deserve to be moving forward.”
