Another Cup Series race weekend sets in and it’s time to address the burning question of NASCAR. The question that has bugged the mind of every stock car enthusiast since the month of April. Will Chase Elliott earn a victory and make it to the Playoffs? Elliott needs to find an answer.

Moreover, with just 4 races left in the regular season schedule, NASCAR insiders and enthusiasts have portrayed a sense of desperation in their voices regarding the possibility of Elliott entering the post-season. It seems that the grid has been broken up into two factions, where one group has languished their hopes on the driver gliding into the post-season, while the other has kept the flame alive and is yet to call it quits.

It seems that Dale Earnhardt Jr has pledged his allegiance to the latter faction, as he portrayed his firm belief in his former Cup Series team, Hendrick Motorsports.

Upon paying attention to the points table, it is evident that the poster boy of NASCAR is only 40 points below the cut-off line for the playoffs. Achieving those 40 points for a racer of Elliott’s caliber is surely not a colossal task. While the driver can still pave his way for the post-season through points, it is a victory that can change the course of his season completely.

These hopes seem to be diminishing for Hendrick Motorsports as well as the fans alike, as the regular season steadily draws to a conclusion. However, it is evident that Dale Jr firmly believes that it’s not until it’s over, as he divulged his thoughts on Elliott’s playoff bubble. In the latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download, co-host Mike Davis asked whether the #9 Chevrolet team was exhibiting its complete prowess in the recent races.

To this, Junior replied, “No, the performance they have had over in the last several weeks would tell me it’s gonna be difficult for them.” However, he also added, “They are a #9 team.
“They are Hendrick Motorsports.
“They are champions, they figure things out.
“I know who they are and they are capable of doing this, even with their most recent performance. You gotta feel like in your gut, even if you are not a Chase Elliott fan, they sooner or later get on track, they sooner or later get back to running where we would expect in the run, anything can hope soon.”

Nonetheless, the co-owner of JR Motorsports does keep room for probable changes and accepts the possible hindrances that can alter the playoff picture for the driver which was apparent in the Dale Jr Download episode.

During the conversation with Mike Davis, Dale Jr also mentioned, “He’s not racing just one person. He’s not racing just the cut line. He’s racing all these different drivers right, and they’re going to also have varying results that are going to make that complicated for Chase.”

He further affirmed, “Chase is good enough. The team’s good enough to get 40 points back and point the way in. But it’s gonna have to go just right, sorry jumping back on the wagon or you staying off. Finishing order does not matter anymore. That only matters to the guy who won the race.”

If Dale Earnhardt Jr is to be believed, the #9 Chevrolet team still has four races on the schedule where they can prove their championship spirit and also continue the legacy of never missing the playoffs since graduating to the Cup Series in 2016.
