This has been a week of fines and sanctions for NASCAR. Hendrick Motorsports has lodged an appeal against the sanctions that NASCAR doled out last week pertaining to alterations made to the hood louvers of all the Hendrick vehicles during the Phoenix Raceway. Additionally, Denny Hamlin received a $50,000 fine and a 25-point penalty by NASCAR for his intentional contact with Ross Chastain late in Sunday’s Cup Series race at Phoenix. After Hamlin revealed the collision to be intentional in his podcast ‘Actions Detrimental’, he sparked a lot of reactions from the racing community.

Amide all this, Denny posted a tweet on Twitter saying, ‘I won’t be making an appeal to NASCAR. However, I will be making an appeal to the people. I’ll see you next Monday. #ADDH.’

This situation has caused a lot of commotion among the racing community, with fans on Twitter and Reddit weighing in on the matter. Many are praising Hamlin’s transparency and honesty, stating that it’s refreshing to see a driver admit to their actions on the track.

One Twitter user wrote, “I’m not a fan per se, but I’m a big fan of the podcast and the transparency. We need more of this not less.”

Similarly, a Reddit user stated, “Say what you want about Denny Hamlin after what happened this past week. Y’all will miss him when he’s gone from the sport. His transparent, authentic, opinionated approach is super refreshing amongst a herd of drivers who don’t show much, if any personality publicly.”

However, not all fans are really pleased with Hamlin’s actions.
