NASCAR is an unpredictable sport with potential dangers lurking at every turn. However, sometimes, life can prove to be a game of Russian roulette off the track as well. And none can explain this better than Joe Gibbs Racing‘s Chris Lambert. After a near-death experience recently, Lambert took the opportunity to thank his fellows.
The JGR spotter is considered by many as among the best spotters in the business. He is revered for his exceptional skills, being Denny Hamlin‘s go-to partner on the track. Unfortunately, he was among a group of team members who endured a scary experience. Now, he has come out praising the JGR aviation crew!
Recently, Lambert shared a social media post where thanked his JGR aviation crew for landing him safely despite the odds being stacked way against them.

Chris Lambert is in awe of his JGR aviation crew that got him through the trouble
NASCAR races are definitely not for the faint-hearted. Certainly not if watching cars go bumper to bumper, door to door at unbelievably high speeds scares you. However, imagine being on an airplane, thousands of feet up, going almost twice or thrice the speed and facing a rather “twitchy” scenario.
Scared? This is what Chris Lambert went through on one of his recent journeys. Thanking his JGR aviation crew for safely landing in Dover, the spotter had a heartwarming update as soon as he got off the plane, praising the crew for handling the situation.

Updating his friends and followers, Lambert tweeted, “Bravo to our @JoeGibbsRacing aviation crew. We just landed in Dover with as much yawed out side to side twitchy action as I’ve experienced in a long time.“
While Lambert took the opportunity to thank his crew members, his close friend and Kaulig Racing spotter Brett Griffin took the opportunity to indulge in some humor in an effort to ease him.

Lambert is certainly grateful for the ordeal to end. However, there have been such instances in the past as well. For example when Dale Jr and his family had a close encounter as their private jet crashed.

Chris Lambert’s recent incident may be troubling but that’s nothing compared to Dale Earnhardt Jr and his family’s. Back in 2019, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Amy Earnhardt Jr, and their daughter Isla had an unfortunate near-death experience during a flight. The situation was so dire that the plane actually crashed near Tennessee.

A video captured by passers-by uncovered the gruesome accident. In the video, we can see the aircraft go up in flames while the safety crew rushes to save the occupants. To this day, Amy recalls the horrific situation and how it left a deep scar on her daughter, Isla. Her daughter was left with serious trauma in the immediate aftermath.
In an interview, Amy talked about the “residual effects” that the accident had on Isla as she was scared to get on an aircraft almost after 1 year after the accident.

Thankfully, everything turned out fine for the JGR crew, and they will be hoping that the scare doesn’t affect Sunday’s race.
