Since Denny Hamlin drives for JGR and also has his own team participating in the owner’s championship, he could possibly pull up something only most can dream about. Setting him among the ranks of legends like Tony Stewart and Richard Petty.

Winning both the driver’s and the owners’ championship is a feat not everyone achieves. But looking at the circumstances, there could be a slight chance that this could come true for Denny Hamlin. However, that would require his co-owned 23XI Racing team’s driver, Bubba Wallace, to score a few wins in the playoffs.

But, let’s hypothetically say, Wallace does win the owner’s championship and Hamlin wins the driver’s championship, would that mean Denny Hamlin could be the winner of both championships at once?

This question was raised?by a fan on Twitter and later even received confirmation from renowned NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass.

The fan had asked, My question is implying, is it possible that Bubba could win the owners FOR Denny. And Denny win the playoff for JGR. Technically making Denny a double championship.”

Pockrass later responded to his question with an affirmation.

How could Bubba Wallace win the owner’s championship without even qualifying for the playoffs?

A few days earlier, it was revealed that Wallace would be swapping his #23 car for Kurt Busch’s #45 car for the duration of the playoffs. Busch was rendered out of the playoff competition as he is in the middle of a brain injury recovery.

However, since Busch had picked up a win earlier in the regular season, that made his car eligible for the owner’s playoff. This is why Wallace was asked to drive the #45 car since that would give 23XI Racing the chance to at least compete for the owner’s championship.

However, Wallace scoring multiple wins would be unlikely. There’s still a chance that he perhaps could commemorate his first Talladega win from last year, with another one this year.
