RFK Racing is back with a bang. After a tight short-track race at Richmond that saw the #17 Ford cross the finish line with flying colors, the Fords continued their dominance at Michigan as Chris Buescher racked up his second win, settling the brand war once and for all and earning Ford their 9th consecutive win at their backyard, Michigan International Speedway.

While it was an outright dominant performance from the all-American manufacturer, the proud Toyota camp, Joe Gibbs Racing, known for their consistency and experienced drivers, lost another battle with the RFK car emerging victorious after a one-on-one with veteran and #1 ranked, Martin Truex Jr.

With the #17 Ford driver and RFK cars dishing out some of the best comeback performances, fans celebrated the reign of the Fords. On the other hand, some fans even went after Truex Jr.’s teammate and NASCAR’s new villain, Denny Hamlin, insinuating another debate as they claimed, “First class racing! Nice and clean, hard racing.”

FireKeepers Casino 400 leaves no question about Chris Buescher and Ford’s ability, instead casts a shadow over Denny Hamlin and JGR Toyotas

First things first, RFK Racing, the proud Ford camp, is now down with two wins: one at the 0.75-mile short track at Richmond and the other at the 2-mile high-flowing speedway at Michigan. Though the team was struggling for a brief time, caught in a rut, veteran Brad Keselowski‘s investment in the team last year has certainly helped them get out of it, and that too in stellar fashion.

At a time when everyone wrote off the Fords, RFK cars did the impossible, showing the world it’s not just about brute speed and outright performance that make a team successful, but it’s more than that. The team really emphasized this point, edging out the consistent JGR Toyotas to claim the win at one of the most technical speedways in the schedule.

While the #19 JGR car proved its strength by dishing another consistent run, acing both initial stages. But during the closing laps of the race, when the Toyotas lost their steam, the superior Fords showed exactly what it was about, rallying on the final laps and outpacing the Toyotas.

Moreover, Martin Truex Jr., who is often lauded for his gentlemen’s approach in a sport that loves drama and controversy, once again showed class, sticking to what he thought was right and letting the #17 car pass instead of leading it into dire straits like Hamlin is accustomed to.

While the fans were clearly impressed with the RFK cars, others took the opportunity to bash Joe Gibbs‘ driver, Denny Hamlin, calling him out and showing him what class was all about.

Though the weather ruined a perfect Sunday race as showers halted the action, prompting the organization to postpone it to the next day, the NASCAR nation got what they deserved: an action-packed yet clean race with the underdog Chris Buescher once again proving his mettle.

But the #17 driver’s rally also got Truex Jr.’s teammate into the open, with fans doubling down on his standout move and snatching a late-minute win. Unlike Hamlin and Truex Jr., who were very vocal about the former’s late move that stole Kyle Larson’s win last week at Richmond, the #19 driver showed character as he cleaned the #17 Ford going side by side into the checkered flag.

And with NASCAR highlighting Monday’s side-by-side racing, fans soon started their rant, bashing Hamlin while they lauded MTJ for showing class.

One fan said what we all had in mind,

Hamlin woulda punted him”
