Kyle Busch will leave Joe Gibbs Racing after 15 years. Sadly, Denny Hamlin will lose a very important teammate, but a recent Instagram story did prove that Hamlin at least wouldn’t lose his friend. The two still have their fun off-track.
In a recent story, we saw Busch teasing his teammate before his final season with JGR ends.

Denny posted on his Instagram right before the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway where he was giving an interview. Funny enough, Busch came up behind him, adorned in the red-colored, Skittles suit with a marker in his hand, and signed Hamlin’s race suit.
Obviously, the #11 driver couldn’t hold his laughter back as he chucked at him and posted the story with the caption “Get out of my shot @rowdybusch”. Well, the two-time Cup Series Champion sure manages to get all the attention, even when he’s leaving the team he was so loyal to.
This also means we will see less of Denny and Busch’s antics. As sad as that is, we will have to get used to it, even though it hurts.
Not Racing alongside Denny Hamlin next year hurt Kyle Busch more than anyone else
In episode 8 of the “Race for the Championship” Busch talked about the JGR deal, and how it just flipped. In fact, he confessed that what happened was so hurtful to him, despite being loyal to Gibbs for over 15 years.

“Something that is so disappointing to me, and so hurtful about this whole situation with JGR, is they were like family,” Busch said. “For 15 years, Joe had my back in the stupidest of moments that Kyle Busch was. Like, he was there for me and it’s gone. It just flipped and gone and it’s like nothing I’ve ever been a part of.”
Moreover, he also highlighted how scary it is to go to another, completely new team. “Change is scary, right? You’ve been in a place for 14-15 years that you’ve built into winning races, winning championships. Going somewhere else is scary.”
