Twitter is one of the biggest tech companies that Silicon Valley has produced in history. The $41 billion behemoth has been used by millions across the globe – for free. All until the company was taken over in a drama-filled, months-long affair by Elon Musk. His moves since have caused ire to most but does he have Denny Hamlin in his corner?

Elon Musk’s love affair with Twitter began around March-April 2022. While his first ‘attempt’ to take over the company ended in a litany of cases and litigations, the takeover finally took place on October 28th. Musk tweeted “the bird is freed” on the microblogging site to announce his acquisition.
In less than a week, however, the $208 billion man has done (and undone) a lot of aspects that formed the core of the popular social media website. Aside from the massive layoffs that have taken place and other changes in rules for employees, Twitter will now be charging $8 per month for its ‘blue tick’ verification.
Twitter and Musk have received a lot of backlash for the move, as the acquisition was initially made under the guise of protecting freedom of speech. The argument from the other side has been – selling verification for a fee would further hinder freedom of speech by making the wealthy more powerful in terms of that.
A number of celebrities and notable persons have criticized the plan.
$20 a month to keep my blue check? Fuck that, they should pay me. If that gets instituted, I’m gone like Enron.

Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually a $8/mo subscription plan

$8/month for me to prove that I am me? He on the BS early! 😂 https://t.co/U62aHJLJoH

The deal Twitter is offering to me is "Pay $8 a month or we'll allow people to impersonate you."
The deal they're offering everybody else is:
"For $8 a month, we'll let anybody impersonate anybody."
Who'd use a service like that?

Musk continues on his goal of monetizing one of the biggest social media sites in history. Criticism continue to stream from the left and from the right, but he remained undeterred.
Is Denny Hamlin a fan of Elon Musk?
Those criticizing Musk’s actions and those appreciating it – all have different reasons and logic. But is NASCAR legend Denny Hamlin on the Musk side of things? His tweet sure seemed to make us think so –
Denny however, did find too many supporters cheering for him after the tweet.
I can't wait until you win a damn championship

I can't tell how you want this read. Is this sarcasm? Sincerity? What is the point of this tweet?

I can’t wait until you win a Cup championship. Seems like I’ll be waiting forever 😂

I hope you’re ready for a bunch of spam accounts with your name and a check mark next to their name
