For NASCAR fans, 2020 Cup Series winner Chase Elliott has been their favorite until now. Sadly, he did not make it to the top four lists of 23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin. Who do you think Hamlin has on his list of the final four drivers for this year?

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is known for being upfront when it comes to his opinions. He is not someone who sugar-coats anything. In a recent podcast episode of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin, Jared Allen, his co-host and Hamlin took up some fan’s questions from Twitter. One fan asked Hamlin who he sees in the final four in this year’s season.

Hamlin, not taking much time, replied, “Oh! Final four, I’m gonna go with Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, DH (himself), and William Byron.” He followed by asking Allen what his thoughts were and got talking about the young Hendrick Motorsports driver. Allen said that it would be a new career best for William Byron if he reaches the final four this year.

Hamlin said, “Yeah, I believe that. I told Bob Moskowitz, my agent at pro sports management, that I thought William Byron last year, will scare the final four for us if he’s gonna make it to the round of eight. He’s gonna scare the Final Four. He ain’t gonna make it but it’s gonna be close. He’s like, wow, really? I was like, Yeah, I do. I think that he’s ready to take that jump. And so, you know, I think that William quietly puts himself in the Final Four.”

While in conversation, Allen reminded Hamlin that he has been on a high for Byron since 2020 or 2021 for having his best season. Hamlin completely agreed with Allen and believes that Byron has great potential. He thinks that the talent that Byron has with the support of his team can certainly take him to the top. Hamlin said, “And it’s crazy because he won the spring Martinsville race. But he went radio silent for like 20 weeks last year where he might have had like a top 10 or something like that. And then he got hotter towards the end of the year. So I think that yeah, I am. I’m high on Byron’s long-term talent, and I think he’s obviously got a great team with him.”
