In the recent iteration of the Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin commended William Byron and Kyle Larson for performing amazingly well for their team in Chase Elliott’s absence. Moreover, the three-time Daytona 500 winner believes that Hendrick Motorsports are quite likely to win a lot more races because their cars are ‘ultra fast’.
Further, Denny Hamlin said, “At this pace and rate, they have a chance to break, I don’t know what the season record is for wins in a season by a team. I know Joe Gibbs won 18 or 19, a few years ago.”

Moreover, the 42-year-old felt that Hendrick Motorsports could beat Joe Gibbs Racing‘s record of most (19) wins in 2019 when Chase Elliott returns from his injury. Hamlin also ended up sending a heartwarming message to his fellow driver, hoping that Elliott would get back soon.

Denny Hamlin stated, “So, Chase Elliott! We’re out there we’re still thinking about you. Hope you get well man. I know he hates not being out there racing each week and we’re gonna keep rooting for Chase to get back as soon as possible.”

Elliott has been out for over two weeks after he injured himself while snowboarding. The 2020 Cup Series champ is likely to miss a few more races in the coming weeks after being sidelined for about six weeks. Hamlin understood how frustrating such situations could be for the drivers, as he wished Elliott a speedy recovery.
