Years after Denny Hamlin deemed Alex Bowman a “hack” denouncing his win in Martinsville, it looks like the tables have turned against the veteran. After a rather intense battle in Homestead-Miami, Hamlin lost it to Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney, bashing the JGR veteran and returning him the favor calling him a “hack.”

In the aftermath of this, NASCAR enthusiasts on the popular DBC podcast dropped their takes on the intense exchange that was ensuing on the track last Sunday as they highlighted where Denny Hamlin “scr*wed up.” The scene was critical for the No. 11 JGR star who brutally trolled the community in Bristol.

The JGR veteran needed a decent finish or a win for that matter to secure a berth in the final 4 however, he was denied both as Ford driver, Ryan Blaney neutralized the “villain” with a perfect response. Blaney not only denied the controversialist a free pass but also doubled down on him in the post-race interview, calling him a “hack” using his 2021 Martinsville against him. Denny Hamlin on the other hand ended his day on a sour note after receiving major damages to his car at the 30th spot.

Reacting to the incident, the DBC crew weighed in with their takes as Brett Griffin, the Kaulig Racing spotter pointed out where Denny Hamlin shot himself in the foot. He said, This is where I think Denny scr*wed up, they were going 2 wide after racing tails off, Bell’s coming with a run but not a massive run and I think Denny thought maybe Christopher Bell would make 3 wide and if he did he would have enough momentum to clear him, it was clearly obvious Denny didn’t necessarily want to run the bottom because he was entering so high which he is one of the best at that but he enters the middle and Christopher Bell goes to the bottom and just clears them both and gone.”

With the playoff action steamrolling towards an epic conclusion, the community was awaiting a dramatic episode and they got what they wanted on Sunday. While the JGR’s road racing talent, Christopher Bell picked up an impressive win off the last minute with a quick rally, the team’s veteran duo of Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr went out terribly.

Hamlin’s tussle with Ryan Blaney eventually got the #11 car major damages before it was deemed out of contention. On the other hand, misfortune struck down the #19 driver as his hopes got washed away by an engine failure. But the race garnered all the attention because of the Ford-Toyota back and forth between the #12 and #11 cars.

Reacting to the battle, TJ Majors said, “Dude, I’m telling you they were, I was enjoying the show, this is after we got put in the wall, I’m like, they’re racing pretty hard so I’m like keep watching and they’re squeezing each other out of 4.” He further added, saying, “Denny tried to, he tried to slide job into (turn) 1 and he did stop, I mean Denny(Hamlin) put it right, he did what he’s really good at, he put Blaney in a tough spot but Blaney in a very skilled way reacted to it perfectly and stayed right there.
