Last year, NBA legend Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin established the 23XI Racing team. Along the way, both of them set up some lofty targets for the outfit and driver Bubba Wallace. On a positive note, Wallace stormed to a maiden win at the Talladega Superspeedway, his home turf. Now, the organization wishes to become bigger than ever.
Recently, Hamlin spoke about Jordan’s motto and why the 23XI project is so important to them. He said, One of the things that was very important to him and his brand is that we can’t fail. We can’t be going out of business in a couple years. We’ve got to be in this for the long haul. And so, building something slowly but surely, that is the strategic way we’re trying to go about this.”

What did Denny Hamlin say about his partnership with Michael Jordan?
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver acknowledged the risk of entering business partnerships with friends. However, he declared that Michael Jordan is helping by bringing important assets to the team. Hamlin said, “They bring something to the team that we can use to help, whether it be selling sponsorship, the staff that they have at the Charlotte Hornets — we utilize a lot of them. So, it really works out well with this partnership. I bring help on the competition side. They bring a lot of help on the business side.”

Now, the organization has expanded to include a second car, at the hands of veteran driver Kurt Busch. Aside from Hamlin and Jordan, even the drivers bring something to the table. Bubba Wallace brings his talent and a boosted confidence from his maiden Cup Series win. Meanwhile, Busch brings his experience, and it also helps that he is a former Cup Series champion, so his inputs will be highly critical for the team.
