The race at the Los Angeles Coliseum was filled with constant on-track action. With jam-packed cars stacked bumper to bumper, the race saw a total of 16 cautions being waved. One such caution came out during the later stages of the race when Bubba Wallace found himself in the wall. Just before the 23XI Racing driver was amongst the forerunners.
However, things took a drastic turn after a restart. Following the race, Denny Hamlin spoke about it during his podcast. He revealed that he definitely was angry with his driver. However, did not put the blame on him.

Hamlin stated, “people were trying to like, you know, I saw on Twitter they were really like, ‘Well, you gotta be pissed at Bubba’ and yeah, I am. But I also saw that kind of he got, you know, I barely got hit too hard. The 19 barely hit him and it just kind of, again, it doesn’t take much to really get these cars kinda out of shape when you start bumper tagging.”

Despite this, he continued to climb back up. Moreover, at one point in time, he was back in contention for a top spot until an incident with Austin Dillon ruined his day. The incident sent Wallace tumbling down the order. Whereas if this had not taken place, who knows? Wallace could have started the season on a high.
Later on, Wallace expressed disappointment about the situation with Dillon, as he felt the #3 car was having trouble navigating the turn and continuously hit his left-rear tire.
