For the 23XI Racing team and Denny Hamlin, the biggest Rubik’s Cube to solve is Bubba Wallace and his pit crew. The most recent experiment to deal with the issue was to swap his pit crew for Christopher Bell’s. Recently, Hamlin talked about the saga and admitted that the selection process is not simple.

He said, “We can’t make changes, just to make changes. You have to have a methodical reason for it. Gibbs has a pool of 40 guys for six teams, or whatever it might be. When we began the year, we expected to have top 15 teams and we didn’t. So we’ve had meeting about what our expectations are. What Gibbs is doing to make sure they provide a better service for us.”

Will there be a permanent solution for Bubba Wallace?

Hopefully, for his sake, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The African-American driver has been incredibly frustrated due to all the problems that have ruined his chances of a good finish. Admittedly, the #23 driver has often found himself in excellent positions, only for a bungled pit stop to ruin everything. That is when the poor driver is brought back to square one, with his race compromised.

Now, the driver has to hope that he somehow manages to sneak in a win before the Playoffs commence. If he does, he will join teammate Kurt Busch in the championship fight. However, at the same time, he has to hope that there won’t be too many winners, otherwise, his chances will be jeopardised. As for Denny Hamlin, he has nothing to worry about in terms of Playoff qualification, as he has two wins already. On the other hand, he will be praying that Bubba Wallace gets that pesky win off his back.
