Gabehart’s account of the incident revealed that an odd instantaneous power steering failure occurred during a downshift, which violently ripped the steering wheel out of Hamlin’s hands. The violent event took place when there was a spike in RPM during the downshift, contributing to the failure.

In response to the tweet, one fan didn’t hesitate to place the blame on Hamlin. The fan wrote, “Translation… Denny blew it up.”
