Denny Hamlin gave Joe Gibbs Racing its first win in this year’s NASCAR Cup Series season. In doing so, the driver brought the first victory for Toyota as well. Wishes poured in from everywhere, amidst them was Hamlin’s long-time sponsor FedEx.

FedEx is in a multi-year partnership with Denny Hamlin. Their contract has been renewed last year. However, no additional details have been revealed. This made FedEx a very long-time partner for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver.

In an interview with the NASCAR America Motormouths podcast on Spotify, Denny shared his impressive partnership with FedEx. When asked about the relationship Hamilton asserted that he’s happy to be associated with the company.

Denny said, “Yeah I mean it’s so important that I couldn’t do it without them. I mean they’ve been with me my whole career which is so rare. You know my cars get recognized mostly whole week. I mean it’s such a normalcy in our sport now where nine cars or ten cars can look totally different. You just never which is your car. Is this the yellow car or the black car, you don’t really know.”

 

FedEx has been a true true brand and it’s been on the race-track. I’m really pleased for the NASCAR program and myself. It’s been such a blessing. It’s happening like lucky stars every day that I got such company behind me. It seized the day and my team. So it’s great. It’s a relationship we hope to keep to the end of my career and hope to continue and grow as well.“, the Richmond race winner further asserted.

How has Denny Hamlin fared this season?

With the win, Hamlin took himself to 20th position in the drivers’ standings. With 40 points picked up from Richmond, the 41-year-old took his tally to 148 after seven races.

To summarise the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s performance before Richmond, Hamlin didn’t do too well. Last year’s second runners-up have finished all the six races outside the top-10. As NASCAR goes to Martinsville this week, it’ll be interesting to see how the Richmond winner fares there.
