Denny Hamlin is losing his cool on the racetrack after being roughed up by Kyle Larson at the Nashville Superspeedway. As the race went back to green after the rain scare, Hamlin and Larson were constantly tussling with each other for the third spot. On Lap 186, the JGR star, after being raced hard by his rival, lost his cool and started bumping into the No. 5 car.

Seeing things getting out of control, Hamlin’s crew chief tried to calm his driver, reminding him that he was still in contention to win the race. “We’re gonna win the race, worry about the grab a**ing later.” Well, this was the first instance this season that Hamlin was on the receiving end of things, and he certainly didn’t take it well.

Ultimately, neither of the two drivers was able to achieve what they wanted, winning the race. Out of fuel and ideas, their racecraft was foiled by multiple overtime runs and a shortage of fuel. Larson finished inside the top 10, while Denny Hamlin got a P12 finish to his name. Although there seems to be a rivalry developing between the two drivers, Hamlin once again reiterated that his fiery battle with the HMS star was nothing serious.

“I mean, it was an eye for an eye, right? I ran up him the track a little bit last week, and he ran me up track this week, and it’s all good. Obviously, he got into us and knocked the 22, and I’m not sure if he wiped out 1 (Ross Chastain) or not, driving into turn 1. It’s all fun.” Hamlin said this post-race to Bob Pockrass.

But the comments section was quickly abuzz after hearing his rant over the team radio following his race-related altercation with Larson. The fans certainly weren’t going to cut him any slack for the way he behaved on the racetrack.

Being NASCAR’s proclaimed villain, fans were quick to jump on this case and bashed the JGR driver for getting a taste of his own medicine. “Ole @dennyhamlin don’t like it when someone does him like he does them!! 😂😂😂😂😂”.

There have been multiple instances of Hamlin getting ahead of Larson in races after trying an aggressive move on him. But this time around, the HMS star did a role reversal, and this wasn’t appreciated by him. Calling out Hamlin’s double standards, a fan replied, “@dennyhamlin is the biggest hypocritical crybaby in the world.”

The New Hampshire race is the most recent example where the JGR star made his way around Larson, racing hard. However, now that he received similar treatment from a driver who is his direct rival for the regular season title, he just snapped. Highlighting the driver’s temper tantrums and trolling him, this fan added, “We all just found out @dennyhamlin doesn’t like being raced how he races…………….”.

Now it’s fair to say that Hamlin isn’t a likeable figure amongst the majority of the NASCAR community. Therefore, when there’s an instance or opportunity to throw a jibe at him, fans certainly make it count. This was evident from the response of this fan, “Typical Denny Hamlin”.

Unable to comprehend and justify Hamlin’s frustration, this user simply put the facts on the table. Suggesting that this is how he typically races weekly, especially against Larson, this user chimed in with his response, “LOL is @dennyhamlin serious right now?! He drives Larson dirty ALL THE TIME 😂🤦🏼”.

The rivalry between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson is brewing; there are no doubts about it. And this was certainly not the last time the two locked horns to get the desired race results in their favor.
