What happened between Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski has to be one of the most hilarious incidents from a NASCAR race in recent memory. And no, it wasn’t something that happened on the racetrack between the #11 and the #6.

It’s something that happened after the checkered flag dropped as Keselowski, who was in the mix to win the race until the final few seconds, if not for the last lap pass by Joey Logano, rushed to the restroom immediately as he got out of the car.

A few seconds later, Hamlin came strolling up and opened the door to the restroom Keselowski was in. Naturally, he immediately closed it and stood there awkwardly.

After NASCAR fined Denny Hamlin $50,000 for his incident with Ross Chastain in Phoenix, the veteran shrugged most of the questions off in lead up to Atlanta. This, according to Kevin Harvick, the handouts given to Hamlin were “easy responses.”

It’s like going to court and saying you’re guilty. I mean, it’s tough to respond differently when the plea is already guilty,” he described as per Charlotte Observer.

Now, even though Hamlin has announced he’ll be appealing the penalties, it’s unlikely he’ll get any joy simply because it was more of a statement penalty by NASCAR than a consequential one.

But still, do you think they could retract his penalty? Or would he face the same fate as Brad Keselowski did last season with his appeals?
