Kyle Busch has finally secured his future with Richard Childress Racing! Finally, the future is looking a lot brighter for the two-time Cup Series Champion. But the current driver of the #8, Tyler Reddick, got stuck in the middle.
As you might already know, Reddick will drive for 23XI Racing from 2024. And his future boss, Denny Hamlin, pulled out the big guns, as he mocks the announcement and uses Richard Childress’s statement against him.

As soon as the current driver of the #8 car signed a deal with 23XI, things got tense at RCR. Especially considering how loyal he was to the team. But soon after the announcement, the owner issued a statement.

Of course, it’s pretty sad he announced his departure from a team that has been so good to him. But, take special note of the last line, “timing of this announcement could not be worse.” So, why is that one line so important?

Well, as soon as the news about Kyle Busch came out, his teammate, Hamlin, tweeted a goodbye message, appreciating the time they spent as teammates. Of course, he wished him luck on his journey and all the other formalities. But the last line of his tweet is the one that will make some jaws drop.
Congratulations to @KyleBusch and @RCRracing.This is a great opportunity for both parties to team up and win races for years to come. Thank you Kyle for being such a great teammate for the last 15 years. Good luck on the next chapter of your career. The timing could not be better

The last line says, “The timing could not be better”.
So, that is a direct hit at the statement Richard Childress gave when Reddick announced he will leave the team to join 23XI Racing. Of course, Busch will take Tyler’s car and the entirety of his crew. Naturally, that would leave a sour taste in his soon-to-be owner’s mouth.
This did not thrill the fans either.
It’s a career ending move. As long as Austin is racing no one will be able to do much in that 8 car.

So they shoot Tyler in the door for basically giving a one year notice? The 8 car will always be back up to Austin. Tyler will have a ride next year no doubt. Kyle on the other hand I hope he surprises us. But I’m afraid he is about to find out why Harvick and the others left.

I've actually started to like Hamlin a lot lately ngl

Lmao the 'timing' part is gold. Now JGR will buyout Reddicks contract and he will be in the 18 for one season before becoming your driver

Fortunately, Richard Childress has figured out a way to fix the big dilemma.
From 2023 onwards, Busch will be in the #8 as discussed, and Reddick will be in another, yet-to-be-announced team, owned by Childress until his departure in 2024.
