In the thrilling Richmond race, Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon was comfortable leading the last few laps. A caution enabled Joey Logano to go past Dillon and take the lead. Dillon wanted the win, by hook or by crook. So he spun Logano out of his way and also roped in Hamlin, who tried to sneak past him.

After all these efforts, Dillon finally secured the win. Hilarious right? What is more hilarious is Joey Logano‘s reaction to a journalist questioning again and again if Austin Dillon’s wreck was intentional or not. Dillon replied with non-stop sarcasm as the conversation went on in circles. Veteran and Dillon’s second victim, Denny Hamlin, hit out at that journalist.

Dillon’s controversial race win at the Richmond Track is still being discussed. After NASCAR carefully, taking their sweet time, penalized Dillon for the wreck, stripped him of his playoff spot, and also fined Joey Logano $50,000 for aggression on the pit lane, some journalists are still questioning if it was a deliberate foul by Austin Dillon. Jeff Gluck took to X to post that hilarious conversation between NASCAR journalist Jerry Jordan and Joey Logano.

Jerry asked Logano if Austin Dillon, after hitting him, accidentally hit Hamlin or if that was deliberate too. Logano found this question hilarious as he replied sarcastically, saying, “There’s data that shows his hands turn to left if he was going to go straight he would have held his hand straight if you’re going to go, left you turn your hands to the left it’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen I know like if you turn left the car actually turns.”

The journalist kept reiterating his point, and Logano kept replying sarcastically as he found the conversation humorous. Jerry talked about how there were 350 feet between Dillon and Hamlin. The journalist seemed proud of GPSing the distance himself. However, Logano kept ridiculing him. Not just Logano, even Denny Hamlin came to his rescue as he found the to and fro between the Logano and Jerry, ‘bizarre’. He took to X, replying to that conversation, and wrote, “I’ve never seen a media member continuing to dispute data and what every professional driver said happened. Bizarre”

The Richmond incident is the past now. It’s a new race, a clean slate. Just like Richmond, Hamlin has secured P1 in qualification at the Michigan International Speedway and will be eying his 4th win of the season. However, Jerry Jordan is in no mood to move on. In a pre-race press conference ahead of the Michigan race, he asked Bubba Wallace the same question as Logano. Bubba had an interesting response.

Bubba Wallace entertains the question, unlike Logano

At the press conference, Jerry Jordan asked Bubba the same questions with the same specificities as Logano, the question was “Is there enough time in 350 feet from where when he spins Joey okay obviously deliberate we know that to calculate taking out Denny or is that a victim of circumstances because Denny was normal line goes up the track and they make contact, 350 ft I gpsed it on mapping.”

Unlike Logano, Bubba has a serious response as he dwells on the possibility of Hamlin’s contact being an accident as Dillon was unaware. Bubba said, “I would assume he (Dillon) went in there and hit him and you know obviously checked up to figure out where he was going and then his spotter is just screaming at him to hook him and wreck him. So it’s like you almost forgot about the 11 (Hamlin) you were out there on an island you’re like okay got him out of the way. Oh I messed up and take out the 22 or the 11. I think it’s a little bit of knowing where your surroundings are forgetting about the car behind and then reacting to that, so I think yeah it’s possible.”

Deliberate or not, NASCAR has made its decision. The next race is the Michigan one, Bubba is also desperate for a win and might actually get it, thanks to his consistency and the P5 that he attained in qualifying. What do you think are the #23’s chances at Michigan? Let us know in the comments below.
