There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that NASCAR is one of the toughest sports that takes a huge toll on the mental preparedness of the drivers. The constant fight for the survival of the fittest and the compulsion to perform under pressure without compromising skills is not an easy task, even for the invincible NASCAR drivers. This is because, when the results turn out to be disappointing, it affects not only the position of the team in the points standings but also the mental state of the drivers. This can even lead drivers to drown themselves in self-doubt and anxiety, questioning their worth as a driver.
But it can’t rain forever and everything comes to pass. All it takes is a bit of patience and confidence in one own self, and no hurdles seem to be unfathomable. And it’s Bubba Wallace who is on this path of self-realization, as revealed by his team boss, Denny Hamlin.

While speaking on a plethora of topics, the co-owner of 23XI Racing Denny Hamlin, in a candid conversation with the media ahead of the Coca-Cola 600, spoke about his team’s performance and especially Bubba Wallace, after his performance at All-Stars-Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
When asked, “Bubba’s performance has gone up in the last couple of weeks. But he also seems a lot looser and laid back right now. Almost like a lot of the pressure he was feeling is not weighing down as much. Has there been any kind of things internally that’s resulted in that?”
To this, the 23XI Racing c0-owner replied, “Well, I think the results honestly, there was a turning point. During the summer of last year, where he started to get some really good runs and started believing in himself. And I think he’s a guy who can definitely question his abilities at times.”
He also added, “But I think he’s had enough sustained, great runs where he now knows his ability. And he knows when he puts in the work. Like the results that he sees from it. So I think this kind of new Bubble Wallace that you’re probably gonna see.”
“The upfront contender week-in week-out more times than not.”
