Joey Logano isn’t holding back. An incident in the pit road that saw one of his tire changers clipped by Denny Hamlin at the Coca-Cola 600 last weekend led him to label the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s action as a “dirty move.”
Responding to the Team Penske driver’s accusation, Hamlin had initially taken no responsibility for what happened.
“When you choose to put yourself around cars that you think are going to go fast, you open yourself up to that stuff happening,” Hamlin had said. “I’m sure he’s hit crew guys before. I don’t even want to swipe at a guy, but they swing so wide now to try to get into position that it’s a product of it.”

However, it seems now that the 23XI Racing co-owner has had some time to reflect, his opinion and understanding of his own actions have changed. Hamlin recently reacted to a tweet by journalist Bob Pockrass, taking full responsibility of what happened in Charlotte.
“I have since reviewed the video. I was wrong. Definitely my fault. I cut in 22 box way too far,” he wrote.

Joey Logano blasts Denny Hamlin and asks for a rule change
Speaking about this incident, Joey Logano described how the tire changer was down on the ground when Denny Hamlin came and ran over heels. Logano believes there was no reason for Hamlin to be so reckless since he had an opening.
“I think that’s just a dirty move,” he added.

Further, the #22 driver explained why NASCAR should consider penalizing these kinds of incidents.
“There needs to be a rule made for it to protect our pit crew. If you’re outside your (pit) box you’re on your own, I get that, but I think if you’re inside your box, you’re in your house, you should be protected in your home,” Logano continued.
