Picture this: It’s July 20, 2018. While watching FOX, you run into a news. A baby girl is guaranteed food for life – and a job – after her mother gave birth in a Chick-fil-A bathroom at San Antonio, Texas. ‘Weird and lucky,’ you think to yourself. But, the job and free food were for a commoner like us. What if it were the child of a NASCAR racer? You must smell a sponsorship deal right from birth! Now think what are the odds of this actually happening. ‘Thin to none’, you might feel. Well, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Justin Bonsigore is here to make you think again.

The 37-year-old Justin Bonsigore recently helped his wife, Taylor Albert Bonsignore, deliver a baby in the parking lot of a leading fast food brand, receiving assistance only from 911. From what our imagination has taken us to, the only person who should be sweating about this is 23XI Racing star, Bubba Wallace. To know why, we need to wrap our head around the unreal happening!

Justin Bonsignore’s hidden talent is following instructions!

It’s the kind of story you only see in movies. However, Justin Bonsignore lived it in real life after a typical hospital journey turned into an experience he would not have imagined in his wildest dreams. It had been a rough couple of days for the duo, as Taylor Albert Bonsignore, his wife, had suffered from a stomach bug, which was passed on to their son Evan. Despite feeling under the weather, her contractions began to intensify, forcing Taylor and Justin Bonsignore to rush to the hospital at around 2:00 A.M. However, fate had other plans. Just 10 minutes into their 35-minute journey, her water broke. With quick thinking, the racer dialed 911.

Then, Bonsignore stood at his usual fast food joint’s parking lot, the one he likes to eat when coming back from races. He knew he had his work cut out for him. With only a 911 operator guiding him, the part-time Joe Gibbs Racing driver managed to help his wife successfully deliver a healthy baby boy under the most bizarre circumstances. On February 28, 2025, at 2:49 A.M., baby Greyson entered the world at a McDonald’s parking lot, just moments before his parents began driving to the medical center.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene moments later to assist the couple, and in less than 36 hours, the family of four was back home to begin their new life together. Seems like quite an adventure, right? Well, it never started there! Reflecting on the situation later, Joe Gibbs Racing’s 4-time Whelen Tour winner went on a social media adventure. He wrote on X, “Tay and I delivered our baby boy Greyson in a @McDonalds parking lot last week, with only a 911 operator helping us at 2:49 am. Fitting for as much as we eat there on trips home from the races. Have to discuss sponsorship for this future racer, move over @BubbaWallace!”

It seems like just like that, the storied history of Greyson Bonsignore and automobiles has begun. With sons often following the footsteps of their fathers in the stock car racing world, could the newborn choose a racing career like Justin Bonsignore in the future? Time will tell.

What’s your perspective on:

Will McDonald's sponsor Greyson Bonsignore's racing career, or is Bubba Wallace safe for now?

Have an interesting take?

However, being born in a McDonald’s parking lot may result in a potential sponsorship in the future, even if it comes at the expense of Bubba Wallace. But, this soft jab will surely be taken sportily by Wallace. After all, he is a father now for quite some time, and has pretty interesting things to say about his transition.

Wallace shares his new outlook after the birth of his baby

Like Bonsignore, Bubba Wallace’s life had also changed overnight. The 23XI Racing driver became a father in late September 2024 after his wife Amanda gave birth to Becks Hayden Wallace. Despite rising from obscurity in Mobile, Alabama, to rub shoulders against NASCAR’s heavyweights, being a father has been the biggest transition the racer has experienced in his 31 years on the planet. The 23XI driver affectionately calls his son “little man” and has vowed to “enjoy the little stuff”, both on and off the track.

Sharing his thoughts about becoming a father, Wallace said, “You know, racing comes second now. I don’t say that easily. For the last… 22 years, it’s been all racing. Marriage came, that was a great head-to-head there of, you know, showing up to be the best husband you can be and provide for your family then. Well, now you got a little one here.” Revealing Becks’ influence, the 31-year-old said, “I feel like I’m walking lighter because of him. Four months old, and he’s already changed my life.”

Given his ‘evolved’ outlook towards life, it’s clear that Bubba Wallace won’t be losing sleep about potentially losing his McDonald’s sponsorship to Justin Bonsignore’s son two decades later. Considering that both the racers are new fathers and drive for Toyota, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that both of them could exchange notes about fatherhood and share tips to navigate this period of their lives. It’s a new chapter for Wallace and Bonsignore, and both will aim to live up to the many challenges ahead.
