Jack Hawksworth is set to make his Craftsman Truck Series debut later this month at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). The 33-year-old racer is the reigning champion of the IMSA GTD Pro Class. The Lexus Racing factory driver has secured 11 victories, 10 pole positions, and 25 podiums in both the IMSA GTD Sprint Cup and GTD PRO categories. Now he has set new goals for himself in stock car racing.

The Bradford, United Kingdom native, is a long way from home, yet he is already warming up to American wheels. He is ready to leave a lasting mark in NASCAR’s premium ruck racing series, driving for TRICON Garage.

Jordan Bianchi tweeted, “Jack Hawksworth, the defending IMSA GTD Pro series champion, will drive the No. 1 Tricon Toyota in the COTA Truck Series race. Hawksworth has made one other NASCAR national series start — the 2019 Xfinity Series race at Mid-Ohio, starting second and finishing 15th.”

Hawksworth has also expressed his enthusiasm in foraying into the COTA racetrack in his new vehicle. “I’m super stoked to be joining TRICON Garage and piloting the No. 1 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra at COTA,” said Hawksworth. “The truck looks awesome. I’m looking forward to stepping back into the NASCAR world, working with the team leading up to the race weekend, and then going out there and getting after it.”

Hawksworth has already won his laurels while driving for Vasser Sullivan and Lexus. He attained his first win in the GTD PRO category at Road America and the first endurance victory at the 2022 Petit Le Mans. Besides, he also has nine victories as an IMSA driver and nearly 50 starts as an IndyCar driver.

Presently, the trucks are beckoning to him for a fresh twist to his racing career.

Hawksworth will be sponsored by Mobil 1, a partner of Toyota Racing Development (TRD) USA, for the XPEL 225. He will reminisce about his previous start in a NASCAR race in 2019. He drove for Joe Gibbs Racing at Mid Ohio in the Xfinity Series. There he qualified on the outside front row, earned a stage victory, and finished in 15th place.
