The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series will commence with the 66th running of the Daytona 500. The Great American Race has marked the start of the biggest stock car racing competition for decades and this season, the stakes are higher than ever. There are several new faces on the grid for this year’s 500, but a lot of the focus will be on the old faces, especially the ones that have got something to prove.

There also is a new defending champion this year who will be looking to add a Daytona 500 victory to his CV. But Ryan Blaney will not be the only champion chasing for a maiden win in the iconic fixture. The likes of Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch are also looking for their first 500 win and the battle will be tight on track.

On Thursday, February 15, fans will witness the two Bluegreen Vacations Duels at 7 pm ET and 8:45 pm ET, respectively. That will be followed by the preparations for what fans would have paid their money for, the 66th running of The Great American Race.

The first practice session will kick off on Friday, February 16 at 5:35 pm ET. The same day will see the 2024 Truck Series season opener a couple of hours later.

On Saturday, February 17, there will be the final practice session before the Daytona 500 at 10:30 am ET.

The events later on in the day include the ARCA Menards Series race at 1:30 pm ET and the NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener at 5 pm ET.

The focus will then shift to Sunday, February 18, when there is only 1 event planned. Daytona 500 will commence at 2:30 pm ET and it promises to be a 3-and-a-half hour-long carnival of the best racing action from some of the best stock car racers in the country. The grandstands have been sold out completely for the main event, but one can get tickets to the other events over the speed week at the official Daytona 500 website.

For the ones not able to make it to the track, all the action from the Daytona 500 weekend will be broadcast on FOX and FOX Sports 1.

This year, there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to the lineup. There are a lot of old faces and a lot of new ones, and one thing is for sure; no one would be willing to give an inch to another if a race-winning situation presents itself.
