Stewart-Haas Racing’s success is old, and so are their struggles. Tony Stewart and co. have been enduring a barren run for a long time now. Going deeper into this season, their drivers have been subpar this year, bar Kevin Harvick. The 47-year-old veteran had been their sole ray of hope this season, but alas, not until last week’s race at Bristol.

With Harvick set to retire at the end of this year, he was hoping for one final big push to bid farewell to the sport in style. However, things have rarely gone right for the team this season, and the pattern continued as he crashed out of the playoffs. Following their abysmal performance, Harvick voiced his disappointment at how the season has opened up for the #4 team, which probably forced Tony to find himself a new partner to begin a new era with, albeit just not for SHR.

The SRX Camping World Series has been a pretty big deal in recent times. Having been able to lure in multiple racing stars of the past and present, the Tony Stewart initiative has been a great addition to stock car racing. However, the tourney has also had its share of mechanical issues, which have marred some of its races. Braking issues have been at the core of it, being responsible for a lot of crashes in the past few months.

But that has not hampered its popularity. It has only grown as a competition and has received more love from the fans with every passing day. To complement its ever-growing stature in the sport, Tony Stewart has been looking for sponsors and partnerships to further propagate his brainchild. iRacing has been the gamer’s go-to platform for a long time. Even modern greats of the game like Kyle Larson have taken part in some events in the recent past, which shows how extensive its influence has been.

Adding the SRX Series to the latest installment of the simulation will come as a boost for Tony after another disappointing season in the Cup Series. iRacing president Tony Gardner conveyed the message through an official press release.

Tony said, “We’re excited to welcome SRX into iRacing in a future release. The SRX car has been a big request from our customers, and many of their past and present tracks are already in the service, which will allow for a quick and seamless integration. We’re looking forward to a release sometime next year, and can’t wait for our iRacers to get their hands on it!”

Well, it looks like Tony will not be stopping at the roadblocks in his path as he continues to realize his vision.

The tourney hasn’t stayed behind in garnering strength in its movement virtually either. SRX: The Game is a standalone game specifically allowing fans to race with stars who have raced in the series before on six licensed tracks, including some iconic venues. The latest announcement of being roped into iRacing comes as a major boost as fans look to embrace it readily.

NASCAR fans on Reddit are some of the most passionate and opinionated people in the community. When they learned about this news, they couldn’t hide their excitement either. One of the fans commented that even though the move has been in talks for a while now, it makes him happy.

“It’s worth noting here that the devs of the standalone SRX game were acquired by iRacing shortly after the SRX game was released. This news has been expected for a while, cool to see it be official.” commented the fan. Meanwhile another fan couldn’t hide his joy at being able to race at some of the most popular tracks in the game, saying, “God I’d be hot lapping Motor Mile for literal hours. I hope they end up putting it in the sim”

Bold and smart move.” commented another, commending Tony for his positive approach despite ongoing hindrances.

“Hoping this also means Thunder Road, Motor Mile, Slinger, etc. to iRacing” read another comment. Iconic venues like Eldora Speedway will also make an appearance if the fans’ hopes are anything to go by.

All in all, it’s a great move in the positive direction of the series. Hoping to reflect some of that success toward Stewart-Haas Racing, Tony Stewart will prepare for another season with new drivers this time, amid the ongoing turmoil.
