Daniel Suarez, the first Mexican-born driver to win a NASCAR Cup race, is sitting without a contract finalized for next year. But, he isn’t so worried about it, since Trackhouse Racing will probably be re-signing him very soon. Suarez, however, recently commented on the way JGR has handled the Kyle Busch contract situation and how they are trying to replace Busch with Ty Gibbs.

Suarez also shares some history with Joe Gibbs Racing as, after initially spending two seasons with them, JGR fired him. After this, he went off to Stewart-Haas Racing but was again replaced after just one year. He then moved on to Gaunt Brothers Racing for one year in 2020, though after having a poor season. Suarez finally moved into Trackhouse Racing from the 2021 season onwards.
During an interview, Suarez talks about Kyle Busch‘s current situation while slamming JGR. He said, “I was thinking about that not too long ago, and I’ve been in that position a few times.”
“I believe Kyle has a very big resume on his back that supports him a lot, but even with that, he’s struggling. He has lost his main sponsor of many years, and now that the team, in my opinion, the team hasn’t done a good job selling him.”
“They have known that M&M is leaving for a long time, and they haven’t been able to find anything. I find that surprising.”
He added, “For whatever reason, they are in that situation, and Ty, I thought, has been doing a decent job in the last few races.”
“I don’t think he’s been doing great, but I think he’s been doing OK, and OK probably is good enough to be able to give him a shot.”
