NASCAR drivers have their way of making the most of the off-season. There’s a faction that just deliberately does not have an off-season, while there are others who take this time to deepen their bonds with their family and loved ones before the adrenaline kicks back in time for the season. Daniel Suarez is part of the latter group and was seen enjoying his brother-in-law’s wedding in Santa Barbara, Brazil, yesterday.
Suarez had an under-par season in 2023, driving the No.99 for Trackhouse Racing. On the back of a solid 2022 season where he did get his first Cup Series win at Sonoma Raceway, better results were expected of the Mexican-American racer. An underwhelming 19th place was certainly not in the plan. With this, the off-season could not have come early for Daniel Suarez, as he does need a bit of clarity and some free space away from racetracks to gather his thoughts.

A perfect gateway to get his mind off the racetrack, Daniel Suarez and his fiance Julia Piquet attended the wedding of Nelson Piquet Jr and Patsy Zurita. Suarez’s sister-in-law, Zurita, competes in the American Equestrian Championship, which is a show jumping competition with horses.
Suarez shared the stills of the wedding and the best moment on Instagram with the caption, “What a night! 🕺🏽 Congratulations irmãos @piquetjr & @patsyzurita the best part was to see you guys so happy!! Love you guys! P.S. It was a long party so Julia had to take a 40min nap to recover a bit!😅”

Some noteworthy stars graced the wedding; a snapshot from the post by Suarez shows Max Verstappen, Nelson Piquet Jr, and Kelly Piquet, along with his partner Julia Piquet. The 2016 Xfinity Champion was seen posing for some candid shots in the post, while he also took a cheeky snap of his fiancee Julia taking a power nap.

Suarez, after having his time off, will have to go back to the drawing board, sit out with his team, and figure out what went wrong last season and how they can overcome those hurdles. With a new season on the horizon, certainly, both Trackhouse Racing and Daniel Suarez will look to turn their fortunes around.

19th is certainly not the place; Trackhouse Racing’s No.99 Daniel Suarez thought he would end up. Yet reality cannot be altered, and they will have to see things as they are. Without a single single throughout the 2023 season, Suarez described the disappointments as a learning curve.
“Sometimes you have years that things go your way and you can see the results and growth, and sometimes you have seasons that are signs of lessons you have to take to be able to improve. Everything is a roller-coaster, and everything is a lesson, and I think year, we had a season where we have to get better.”
