When it comes to Daniel Suarez, most know that he loves racing. He is the first Mexican driver to win a national series championship, and he is now racing full-time in the Cup Series. His recent victory came in the form of the photo finish at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. But did you know that his fiance and soon-to-be wife also have experience in racing and that she loves it?

So when Suarez got the opportunity to race at Interlagos, she didn’t stop him or need any convincing. The NASCAR Brasil Series race is scheduled to happen during the Cup Series multi-week break for the 2024 Summer Olympics. If you think her enthusiasm stems only from her father, three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet, you’d be mistaken. Julia Piquet has her racing credentials, having competed in this very series.

Suarez said, A few years ago, this series came to the United States to do a few races in Homestead and I think it was somewhere else in Florida. And Julia got invited and raced with this series. So I thought, you know, I may have to go ask her for advice on this one… it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Suarez also shared about his fiance’s genuine love for the sport with Journalist Bob Pockrass. He said, “Many of you guys don’t know Julia obviously to the level that I do, but I’m very convinced that Julia loves racing either more or the same that I do. I mean, she loves racing so much, she’s with me in all the races”

He also shared that everyone from the family, from his brother-in-law to his mother-in-law, will attend the race. Not just that, he revealed that his fiance was so pleased that they were planning to extend their stay in Brazil instead of heading back to the USA! It’s clear that in the Suarez-Piquet household, racing is more than just a sport—it’s a shared passion!

I’ve been competing in Brazil since 2015, endurance races in go-karts, and I have got to know the culture, the people and the motorsport love to a different level. I’ve been competing almost every year, pretty much, since 2015, and I love it so much.”
