Folks, there are many milestones in a couple’s long journey. Let’s skip the obvious one of meeting each other. Daniel Suarez and Julia Piquet have been together since 2019. However, they only got engaged in November 2022. Fast forward to last year in July was when they tied the knot. If you recall, this was during the two-week-long Olympic break. The couple carefully planned it during that time, as their friends from the United States could visit the wedding set in Piquet’s hometown, Brasilia, Brazil. Now, many would say the majority of the goals a couple dreams of are done. But these were really only half of them, at least for Daniel and Julia.
The real goals began now after the marriage. And for Suarez and Piquet, next up was building a house together! We have seen how Dale Jr. and Amy crafted a life of love and mutual respect at Mooresville. Other than revealing her honeymoon plans to Japan, Piquet, at her wedding, had also spoken about the next steps for them. It “involves settling into our new home…We’ll stay strong as a couple, grow together, and move forward in life,” she had said. And after going hard at it for quite some time, they have finally done it!

New a new home for two, please!
So, Suarez hails from Mexico, and Piquet is from Brazil, and it’s quite remarkable for them to find solace and a home in the United States. For the folks who don’t know, Suarez moved to the states in 2011, for the K&N Pro Series (Now called the ARCA Series). And that’s roughly the same time even Piquet moved to American to study at the University of Miami, earning a bachelor in Management and Economics. And just a year after that, in 2012, the couple met!
Then, in 2016, Daniel Suarez bought a home in Hunterville, North Carolina. This was during his Xfinity Series days. A stately brick, four-bedroom home in the suburbs. But Piquet at the time, was still staying in Miami before moving to North Carolina with Suarez sometime in 2020. Now, the couple has built their first home together in NC. Piquet, proud of how far they have come, shared a photo of their home in her recent Instagram post.
She wrote, “Exactly 5 years ago today, I moved to North Carolina. Until recently, “home” had many meanings to me. It was my childhood house in Monaco… home was Brasilia where I went to high school… then it was Miami that felt like home for the better part of a decade… and now this. My favourite home yet. A home I built with my husband from scratch. Where every detail was thought through, hand-picked, and brought to life. I am so grateful for this chapter I get to call home 🤍.”

Their friends and family were quick to respond with heartfelt comments. Piquet is good friends with Bubba Wallace’s wife Amanda, who wrote, “Y’all did an amazing job with your home!!!” Julia’s sister and long-time girlfriend of four-time Formula One champion Max Verstappen, Kelly Piquet, wrote, “😍😍😍.”

What’s your perspective on:
Will Daniel Suarez's new home bring him the luck he needs to conquer the NASCAR circuit?
Have an interesting take?
Even Daniel Suarez couldn’t help but be in awe of what they had created. He even commented on the post, “❤️🙌.” Anyway, that’s one post-marriage goal down. But Julia Piquet had also mentioned another goal back then,“…getting back on the NASCAR schedule, hopefully fighting for a championship.” But the 2025 season so far hasn’t been great for Suarez.

Would Daniel Suarez get to smash any pinatas this season?
Folks, Suarez is known to do the classic piñata smash during his Cup wins; it’s a Mexican tradition. If you recall, he pulled one after his Atlanta win last season. And after Ross Chastain had a poor season. Suarez single-handedly took Trackhouse Racing in the 2024 playoffs. Finishing the season with a strong P12. And naturally, team owner Justin Marks and Co. had big hopes for 2025 as well.

But the season hasn’t been as Suarez would have wanted. In the eight races so far, he’s only managed one top 10 and one top 5. He could have won Las Vegas, but Josh Berry took the lead from him eventually, and the #99 driver had to settle for a P2. Other than this, Suarez has pretty much been outside the top 15. And next up is Bristol, and it’s no secret that Saurez hasn’t been great on short tracks and especially Bristol. The last race he ran here was a P31 finish.
Still, he is hopeful of the weekend: “This will be a good test for us. Last fall, we really struggled at Bristol. It was a playoff race, and we advanced, but we didn’t run as well as we wanted to run. I know Trackhouse Racing and my team have put a lot of work into prepare for Bristol, and I hope we see the results on Sunday.” What do you think, folks?
